Fortaleza

Gastronomy

Fortaleza's gastronomy is a celebration of the sea, the land and northeastern Brazilian culture — unique flavours that turn every meal into a memorable experience.

Northeastern cuisine

A cuisine with its own identity

Fortaleza is synonymous with lobster, prawns and fresh fish straight from the Atlantic. Cearense cuisine fuses coastal ingredients with the tradition of the sertão — sun-dried beef, green beans, cassava — creating a culinary offer unmatched anywhere else in Brazil.

Beach barracas, Beira Mar restaurants and local markets are the perfect setting to discover an authentic, accessible and vibrant food culture.
